Bidayyat currently launches one to two annual calls for proposals for long documentary film projects (duration from 24 to 90 min). The calls are announced via Bidayyat’s website and social media channels. Each call remains open for two months and after its closure, only complete project proposals will be evaluated by an independent committee of professionals in the field of documentary filmmaking.

Bidayyat documentary grant 2014

Bidayyat has launched on May 2, 2014 its annual call to announce the support of creative documentary film projects.The current call for applications to the grant is open until June 15, 2014.

A first selection round will be made by the jury who is going to chose those film projects that will be taken into consideration for the final selection. The jury will then carry out interviews with the applicants (directly or via skype) and based on this will select the final winning projects. Bidayyat grants this year amounts of up to 15,000 US Dollars.The granted amounts vary, depending on the documentary film’s presented budget and the jury’s evaluation.

Only duely filled out applications in Arabic language and sent until June 15, 2014 will be considered

FOR GRANTS

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES:

The applicant must be the project holder
The project holder must be Syrian or Syrian Palestinian
Preference is given to film projects of Syrians still residing in Syria or in neighboring countries
First experience/know-how in film-making is preferable

INELIGIBLE CANDIDATES:

Well established documentary filmmakers
Not being of Syrian nationality (Syrian-Palestinians are excepted from this condition)

FOR PRODUCTION

Please send your film project proposal to: info@bidayyat.org , containing the following information and documents:

CV of the project holder
Summary of the film
Duration of the film
Visual treatment
Estimated duration of implementation of the film project
Cost estimation, including needed technical equipment
Supporting material if existing: Files/Samples of previous work of up to 100 MB uploaded on YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox etc

Since Bidayyat aims to support the development of Syrian documentary and short filmmaking, please understand that only Syrian or Syrian-Palestinian project holders can apply for production with Bidayyat.
