Many of these films are debut features by Syrian directors, documenting and engaging with the changes and transformations that characterize the region’s current reality. These films also reflect the lives of Syrians wherever they are: following their daily lives, interrogating their changing reality, and shedding light on the individual tales and stories that are absent from the coverage of the major news outlets.
